Chapter 5: A battle against Darkness.

"I got ran over by a monster. . ." Twilightrain started. "My brother guarded me while Exia went to go get food. A ShadowClan cat ran up nd saw how much pain I was in and tried to help by taking me to the medicine cat. My brother wouldn't take it. He attacked the cat and it fought back. My brother died and the cat took me back to the clan. . . I got an apprentice name. . . and here i am. . " She cried. "I've always wanted to find Exia. . ."

"But all cuase of that though, has brought Exia to ruin in his life and he doesent remember you..." Rainwing meowed.

"I should have just let myself heal!!" Twilightrain yelped. "Sure, i propably would've died, but atleast Exia would have his brother!!"

"....No point in this all..." Rainwing meowed. "Huh?" Flameheart asked.

"What do you mean?" Twilightrain asked Rainwing.

"There's no point in all of this...The forest is slowly dying....everything is hopeless now, the clans are all going into turmoil..." Rainwing meowed.

"What are you saying?" Twilightrain asked him.

"ALL OF IT!!! I'm getting tired of everything!! everything has been getting worse since Lakestar appeared! I just wannt it to be like normal again!!!" Rainwing meowed.

"We all do. . but Darkheart has made that hard for us. . " Twilightrain replied. " We'll stop it. . ." Flameheart meowed. "You, me Twilightrain, and Redsky. We'll stop it together." He meowed.

"No! I'm not losing any of you either! Dont you understand that?! I must fight alone!" Rainwing meowed.

Twilightrain stifled a laugh. "You'll get yourself killed, you know, and besides, we can take care of ourselves."

rainwing started to protest, but he was cut off by "Oh, and stop trying to play the Hero. You're not ready for THAT yet."

"Huh?" Rainwing meowed in shock.

"I was Exia's bodyguard." Twilightrain cried. "Or at least I wanted to be. . .To protect my brother was all I really wanted. . ."

Rainwing, growled to everyone in a low hiss, and padded away.

Redsky bacame alert. "Rainwing!" she shouted. Rainwing ignored her. She waited until he stalked off, and then slowly and quietly followed after him.

".....Twilightrain head back to your camp." Flameheart moewed and turned around torward the camp.

"Oh, okay, Flameheart. . ." Twilightrain replied and walked off to ShadowClan.

"Oh yeah, See you at the next gathering." Flameheart meowed back to Twilightrain.

"Okay. . ." Twilightrain replied.

Meanwhile. . .

Redsky stalked in the bushes. "I need to think of a way to cheer Rainwing up. . ." she paused and smiled. "He can be such a baby sometimes. . ."

"Redsky, stop following me." Rainwing said, looking back. Until he rammed into a tree.

Redsky jumped out of the trees and laughed at Rainwing. "How did you know I was following you?"

"You aren't quiet at all, plus the bushes rustling..ow." RainWing meowed getting up.

"I do need to work on that. . ." Redsky laughed. "But i'm not going to go and get reapprenticed in ThunderClan. . .Propably different from ShadowClan!"

"Daughter, Looks like mate isn't a complete failure." A voice said from within the darkness.

"Huh? Who is that?" Redsky asked.
