Chapter 4: The dark warning.

"Twilightpaw...You remember her?" Rainwing asked. "Of course I do, I saw her at the last gathering." Redsky replied. " She had a dream..." Rainwing started.

Redsky sat silently. Rainwing started to explain the dream.

"And thats everything...But their's somthing else troubling me...I think I saw Darkheart in the forest..just like what he looked like when he died..." Rainwing meowed.

"Darkheart?!" Redsky asked startled. She still had a faint spark of affection for the long dead cat.

"Yea, But he..Their was something different... Twilightpaw said he saved her but he was calling his self Darkclaw..." Rainwing meowed.

"Maybe he was trying to hide his identity." Redsky suggested. "Well, tomorrow morning Brightkit, Dawnkit, and Flamekit are becoming apprentices." Redsky smiled. "We'd better get to sleep."

"Yea.." Rainwing meowed laying down next to his kits and redsky.

"All cats able to catch their own prey gather around."Yelled FireStar. "We have a naming ceremony today. Flamekit, Dawnkit, and Brightkit. Came now." The three kits obeyed, and Dawnkit and Brightkit proudly walked up to be given their names, while Flamekit calmly dragged behind.

"From now on you will be known as Brightpaw," Firestar said as he looked down on Brightpaw. "And your mentor shall be Sandmoon." He turned to Dawnpaw. "You will be Graystripes apprentice and shall be known as Dawnpaw." And lastly he turned to Flamekit. "You shall be known as Flamepaw, and your mother, Redsky shall be your mentor."

Rainwing looked at them proudly, but he was bothered by how Flamepaw acted.

Brightpaw and Dawnpaw ran down to their father, in happiness, Flamepaw, Slowly but happily jumped down and purred as he approached his parents.

"Well, This is your first day as an apprentice, How do you three feel?" Rainwing asked.

"Wonderful!!" Shouted Brightpaw and Dawnpaw in unison, after a while Flamepaw added quietly, "Excited, so when are we going to start training mother?" "Please address me as Redsky now." Redsky added formally. "And If you want, right now, come Rainwing! Lets see how well Flamepaw learns!"

"I have to go on patrol actually.. I'm sorry Flamepaw.. I'd love to watch you train but I gotta keep my dutys" Rainwing meowed cheerfully.

"It is fine, Rainwing." He added distantly. He seemed distant, like Darkheart. Being near Flamepaw, was almost scary for Redsky. It was like Flamepaw was Darkheart.

"HAH!" Flamepaw yelled as he caught a mouse. "Add it to the pile!" Redsky said cheerfully. Her and Flamepaw had caught many rabbits, mice, and shrews, It would take many trips back to the camp to take them all back.

"..Darkclaw.. What is he how is he alive?" Rainwing asked his self.

Many satc gazed in amazement as Flamepaw and Redskt brought in lots of fresh-kill. "Heh. . ." a cat said aloud. "Flamepaw, will become very useful.
Suddenly a cat came into camp. "Hurry! Something is wrong with Dawnpaw!"

"What happened?!" Firestar asked.

"What happened!?" Brightpaw asked. Flamepaw quietly snuck out when nobody noticed, Brightpaw saw him and quietly followed.

The trees made loud noises as a young cat stood on a rock. "Yawn...I wish I could meet a wild cat..like Graystripe..."Pad meowed(Manga: Warriors Refuge 2). "It's been a long time since he came and fixed are problem with those twolegs....But it's time I wander off from home and find a new place!" Pad meowed.

"Dawnpaw is very sick! I don't know what happened!" The cat yelled. "Oh, no! My kit." Surprisingly, Flamepaw was just as calm as ussual, like he knew it was going to happen. Flamepaw slowly walked over to where the other cats were gathering, Rainwing noticed this.

Rainwing quietly sneaked up on them and listened.

Suddenly, Flamepaw turned around. He wandered into the forest when noone was watching.

Rainwing noticed though, and he quietly followed.

Flamepaw stopped. "Who is following me. . ." He said. He sniffed the air. "Father. . ." He said deep in thought. "Please, go back. . ."

"You cant be out by yourself, Demons, and twolegs are out right now...." Rainwing meowed concerned.
